"those who are awaiting Christ’s return could arguably be considered among them"

You hit the nail on the head, it is just re-branded christian eschatology. Considering that, the world is about to enter a major energy and resource crunch, at the same time as climate change really kicks in, ecologies collapse, and populations surge - it's also pure science fiction.

That this isn't plainly obvious is only an indication of how abundant and cheap energy has completely alienated populations in 'developed' countries from any conception of the natural order of things. Hard lessons from Gaia are forthcoming.

p.s. i'm a computer programmer, but somehow have avoided making that my religion.

hmmm....... I don't think it's entirely true at all that we have a choice in all of this technological participation any more.

You've heard the expression "Ignorance is not an excuse." ???

Well, if it becomes illegal to drink wine mixed with seven up tomorrow - how would someone find out about that?

No television, no radio, no internet, no "smart" phone, no neighbors - just a farmer on a farm with a well - trades his taters for wine and new guitar strings. . . .

I remember being VERY annoyed the first time I went to some POS little store looking for a job so that I could keep my beautiful little home in Dallas' coolest party district. . . .and was told that I had to apply online.

I'd bought a bus ticket that day to go job hunting, and wasted tons of my time. . . .and found out that I had to apply online.

I'm not at all sure that we really get much of a choice in any of this.

I actually WANT a minimum wage job at the local grocery store. . . .IT'S WHERE ALL THE WOMEN ARE AT!!!! Heck to tha yeah!

"right this way, ma'am - oh yes, it's right here, but have you tried this one? oh, it's wonderful! just add some lemon infused evoo, and a dash of balsamic! oh certainly! I'd be so pleased to help. . ."

LOL.

Yogurt is a very nutritious food in a cup. There's a lot of yogurt but my favorite is the weight loss yogurt. The lactic bacteria of yogurt is one of the most good bacteria ever.

Very cool~ Loved this book. I'll admit I only read it because Nintendo's Reggie Fils Aime talked about it. Alot of cool ideas in here, I will be using in my own business. It's very very smart.

Btw, cool blog.

You pose an interesting question. The idea of mass-marketed body parts would have seemed outlandish two decades ago, but today it is very common for patients to ask for features similar to those of their favorite celebrities. Individuals should remember that appearance and identity are not quite synonymous.
